Hello, My name is Julia Dinh
I'm a UX/UI Designer & Front-End Developer.
I gravitate toward any sort of design in life - from software interface to physical design of everyday items such as the look of a door knob. "Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works." - Steve Jobs
I love what I do where I get to make things more simple, useful and enjoyable for people through design. I have a passion for empathy towards deep understanding of user's needs, goals and behaviors. My holistic interests are design thinking, user experience design, interface design, industrial design, healthy living, food and yoga. My strengths are my keen ability to see latent user needs; identify problems and opportunities; simplify a complex problem; and learn new tool quickly. I can see things from bird's eye view or in details. I'm also a creative person.
My expertise spans over 3 main areas.
I design and build web apps from start to finish. I can make things pretty and make them work. I mainly build web apps in WordPress platform with Bootstrap framework. On occasion, I work with clients directly to build and maintain websites.
I can produce rapid prototypes or low-fidelity wireframes to hash out ideas and communicate design intention. I create extensive click-able prototypes using Axure RP. Prototypes can be used in usability testing session.
I enjoy turning to research to interface with end-users directly; and to put myself in their shoes. A good experience aligns with user's mental model, needs and behaviors. As a person, I have a diverse background which gives me an invaluable ability to empathize with people from different perspectives.
The following are collective work from working in small, mid-sized to FORTUNE 500 companies. Industry covers Consumer Products, Hobbies & Crafts, Financial Services and Non-Profit Education. I'm happy to talk through each project in person. Interview me.
